Denver’s Tallest Mass Timber Building Set to Break Ground in 2023

Tall timber is coming to Mile High State. The Return to Form building will have 84 dwelling units including four penthouse units, 32 two-bedroom units, 32 one-bedroom units, and 16 studio units and will be the tallest of its kind in Colorado. In the heart of the RiNo Arts District, the building will pay homage to the historic character of the existing neighborhood. Tres Birds and the development team won the 2022 Mass Timber Competition: Building to Net-Zero this summer for the “Return to Form” project. The $2 million prize will be shared by six winning projects and is sponsored by the Softwood Lumber Board (SLB) and USDA Forest Service (USDA). The project team includes Katz Development, Timberlab, ARUP, and KL&A Engineers and Builders.
