Kallesoe and Timberlab Announce Collaboration on Major CLT Facility
Lem, Denmark – Kallesoe, a leading provider of advanced mass timber and wood processing solutions, is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with Timberlab, a prominent U.S. company specializing in sustainable timber solutions. This collaboration marks a key milestone in developing Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) technology.
Timberlab, renowned for its innovative timber construction methods, has selected Kallesoe to manufacture a complete CLT processing line in Millersburg, Oregon. By combining Kallesoe's expertise in CLT production technology with Timberlab's visionary designs and commitment to sustainability, this partnership is set to establish a state-of-the-art CLT facility, setting new standards for efficiency, quality, and environmental responsibility. This ambitious project aims to revolutionize the timber industry by producing world-class CLT panels for sustainable construction projects worldwide and will ultimately be among the largest CLT production facilities in the United States.
"We are thrilled to partner with Timberlab on this exciting venture," said Kristian Kallesøe, CEO of Kallesoe. “Timberlab is a highly respected and innovative company. This collaboration highlights our shared commitment to advancing the use of timber in construction and reflects our dedication to delivering cutting-edge solutions to our clients.”
Timberlab recognizes this partnership as a significant step in its mission to transform the construction industry, building on the expertise and technology of both companies. The new CLT facility will enable Timberlab to expand its product range and meet the rising demand for environmentally friendly building materials.
"We are excited to partner with Kallesoe to realize our vision of creating a world-class CLT facility," said Christopher Evans, President of Timberlab. "Kallesoe was selected for their efficiency in plant design, transparency in the process, and excellent reputation, which ultimately tipped the scales in their favor."
Timber processing specialist System TM, Kallesoe’s longtime partner and a fellow HOMAG Group company, will supply the state-of-the-art optimization equipment for this line. This consists of an automated feeding system, as well as high-speed cross-cut saws and a top-of-the-line finger-jointing system. All will be seamlessly integrated and complemented by Kallesoe’s newly developed radio-frequency Curing Tunnel, which will harden the finger-joined lamellas. High-speed equipment will be used for the lay-up of lamellas for CLT elements, ensuring optimal precision and productivity throughout the process. The production line will incorporate a radio-frequency CLT press, designed for high capacity and reduced press times.
The facility is designed for future expansion and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.
