David Douglas School | Portland, Oregon
Overview
The David Douglas School District in East Portland serves nearly 8,800 students, with over 2,000 of them enrolled in David Douglas High School, making it one of the largest high schools in the state of Oregon. In 2022, voters passed a bond measure allocating $140 million to the district, $46 million of which is designated for David Douglas High School’s Future Careers Center, a new building supporting the Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. DDHS offers 11 different CTE tracks ranging from culinary arts and technical theater, to business and engineering.
Timberlab was brought on with Pence Construction, BRIC Architecture, and Froelich Engineers, Inc. to bring the Future Careers Center to life and provide a sustainably built state-of-the art space for students to pursue alternative education paths. This will be Timberlab’s second project with Pence Construction.
